I did a complete fluid service change on a 2002 Freightliner Classic with a ISM 330 cummins engine last week as well as other services on numerous trucks. I changed the oil ,Fuel ,Cab air ,Air filters. Then refilled with the appropriate fluids according to the quick serve database we were taught how to use, it came in handy when working on these trucks at my Fiancee's fathers shop. I spent a entire four days cleaning these 4 trucks that hadn't been cleaned all winter and they needed it very bad .

Failure Analysis C & D
These tests were long and took me hours of note taking but it payed off i got a 97% on C only missing 2 problems. The parts covered in this area were :
Wear analysis concepts & common wear types
Abrasive wear
Adhesive wear
Erosive wear
Cavitation erosion wear
Corrosion
Fretting corrosion
Contact stress fatigue wear
I learned the five basic wear analysis concepts which are :
1-observe surface features
2-identify wear type
3-observe wear location
4-list enabling conditions
5-determine what to do next to gather more facts
I learned that if you follow these steps you will find the reasons and places your parts have failed. If you pay attention to the wear type, surface facts will help you identify what type of wear it is. Then look at the location of the wear these things will help you think about possible problems with loading, alignment, clearances, and lubrication.

C 97%
D 92%
I got a 92% on D only missing 5 problems
The areas studied in d were shorter and it covered the steps of wear condition.
Step 1 State the problem
Step 2 Organize fact gathering
Step 3 Observe and record facts
Step 4 Think with the facts
Step 5 Determine the root cause
Step 6,7, and 8 Get the payoff
I learned how to observe and determine wear conditions in parts and how to catalog parts for dis-assembly

Oil Change Worksheet
This is the worksheet we did about the cm570 it was a good time to use Cummins Quick Serve. It was kinda tough because all the info was there but in different places i had to search for a while to get all the answers. I've done oil changes on trucks before but never had this info at my fingertips i will definitely be using it again.

drill bit sharpening
I started with a really rough 7/8 drill bit and had to hand sharpen it with the grinder and the angle gauge.
First I made the top to round but on my second try I ripped right through 3/8.I really enjoyed learning this I've always wanted to know how to sharpen bits now i'm good at it.
